Finally changed my mind about using flood coolant on aluminum after 8 years of mist only

Switched to flood on a job last month and the surface finish difference was night and day (especially on 6061). Now I'm wondering if I've been making my life harder this whole time - anyone else stubborn about switching methods?

Oh man, the 'night and day' difference is exactly what I went through. I was team mist only for years thinking I was saving on cleanup and coolant costs. Then I finally tried flood on a tricky 6061 part with some deep pockets and the finish came out so much better I felt like an idiot for waiting so long. The chip evacuation alone was worth the switch, no more recutting chips that turn into little aluminum welds on my tools. You are definitely not alone in being stubborn about this, but now I can't even imagine going back.
