Figured out I was clamping things wrong after 3 years

I always put my clamps dead center on the workpieces. Took a scrap piece breaking on me to realize I should have been offsetting them closer to the cut line. Has anyone else had a basic habit like that just click later than it should have?

You dead center thing working fine for years and then one piece breaks and now you're changing everything? Sounds like you got unlucky once and are overcorrecting.

Nah, I get what you're saying but I've seen enough of these setups fail to think it's more than just bad luck... once that one part goes it can throw the whole system off in ways you don't expect.
