Can we talk about how I programmed tool offsets wrong for 2 years straight
So I've been running Haas mills since 2021 at a shop in Phoenix. Thought I knew what I was doing with tool length offsets. Then this senior guy walks by while I'm setting up a job and says "hey why are you using the same reference point for your presetter and your machine?" I just stared at him. Turns out I was always zeroing my tools off the table instead of the spindle gage line. That's why my Z heights were always .012 off on every part. He fixed it in like 20 seconds and my parts came out perfect on the first try. I felt like such a fool. Has anyone else had one of those moments where a simple setup trick just blew your mind?

Makes you wonder what else we've been botching this whole time.
