Boss bought a cheap endmill off Amazon and it shattered on the first pass in some 6061 aluminum last Tuesday.

I told him to stick with the brand we normally get from the local supplier but he was saving $12 a piece, now we're down an hour digging ceramic chunks out of the coolant lines and the part's scrap, anyone else deal with pennywise pound foolish types?

Respectfully disagree with @eva_hayes - cheap tools have their place but not on production runs.

I used to side with the cheap stuff but that story changed my mind totally.
