Appreciation post: My supervisor's 30-second tip on tool offsets

My supervisor caught me fiddling with tool offsets for 10 minutes on a Haas VF-2 last month and just said 'stop mathing, use the edge finder twice.' I had been manually calculating every offset from the part zero instead of touching off each tool at the work surface. It cut my setup time in half. Anyone else have a boss who fixed a bad habit with one sentence?

Respect that system but I prefer double-checking with math anyway.
