Watching my neighbor's sprinkler run in the rain last Tuesday
It was pouring outside and I saw their system still going full blast, watering the sidewalk. I checked my own smart controller and realized I had it set to water every other day no matter what, even in winter. That's when I looked up how much water those things waste, about 30% just from bad timing. Anyone else figure out a better schedule for automatic sprinklers?

Bad timing" made me finally get a smart controller too.

Yeah, that 30% waste stat is rough. I switched mine to only run early in the morning, like 5 AM. Lets the water soak in before the sun comes up. My water bill dropped a lot after that.
