Tried skipping the plastic wrap on my leftovers for a week

I usually wrap my bowls in cling film before fridge but last week I just used a plate as a lid instead. Turns out my food stayed fresh the same amount of time and I used zero plastic for 7 days straight. Anybody else find simple swaps like this that actually work without much hassle?
