Solar panels on my block went from zero to 12 in two years

I live in Portland, Oregon, and back in 2022, my street had zero solar setups. Now I can count 12 houses with panels, including my neighbor who just installed a 6kW system last month. The city's group buying program knocked 20% off the cost, and that pushed people to act. Has anyone else seen a sudden jump in their area?

Yeah but my neighbor's panels killed his grass somehow, weird right?

Shadows from the panels probably just blocked the sun, grass needs light to grow.
