My heat pump install took 8 months longer than they promised

I finally decided to replace my old gas furnace with a heat pump last March. The contractor said it would be a 2 week job tops... but between supply chain issues and needing a new electrical panel, it dragged on until November. I had to run space heaters for two winters basically. Anyone else get stuck waiting way longer than expected for a green upgrade?

Totally agree, the supply chain stuff is just one piece of the puzzle. People don't realize how many hidden costs and delays pop up with these green upgrades. I had a buddy who got hit with an extra $3,000 for a panel upgrade and waited 4 months just for the electrician to show up. It seems like no one talks about the electrical side until you're already stuck with a half installed system and no heat.
