My backyard composter split open after 3 months
The plastic bin I got from the city cracked right down the middle last Thursday and I had to dump 40 pounds of half-rotted scraps onto a tarp while I figure out a better system, has anyone tried building a wire mesh bin instead?

Troymorgan got it right, Mother Nature had other plans. I had the same thing happen with a city bin, and I switched to a wire mesh bin made from hardware cloth. It's been holding up fine for two years now, and the airflow is way better.
