Just realized people are washing their reusable bags wrong
I see folks throwing those cloth grocery bags in the wash with hot water and it's basically making them fall apart faster. My sister does it every time and her bags last maybe 3 months while mine go a year plus with cold water and air dry. Has anyone else noticed this eating into the whole point of reusing?

Wash them hot and dry them hot, I do it every single time and my bags hold up fine. Maybe your sister's bags are just cheap junk to begin with?

Hold on ryan, hot drying shrinks the fibers and makes them brittle over time, that's just basic fabric science. My bags are nothing fancy, just cheap canvas ones from the grocery store, but I cold wash and hang them up and they last years, not months. Cheap junk or not, treating fabric with respect is what keeps it going. I think your bags probably look fine on the outside but the threads inside are getting shredded by that high heat. Maybe try a cycle with cold water and no dryer just once and see if you notice a difference in how they feel.
