Just found out lighting makes up 15% of home energy use

I was looking into my electric bill and read that the DOE says lighting is 15% of typical home energy use. I swapped 4 bulbs to LEDs last weekend and my meter barely moved. Anyone seen a bigger drop after switching more fixtures?

My buddy Mike swapped ALL his old bulbs to LEDs last fall and said his bill dropped like $18 the first month. He has this big living room with those track lights that had like 8 bulbs in it, and he said he stopped noticing the difference on the meter after the first week honestly. But he did say the craziest part was the hallway and closet lights he never thought about - those little things run all the time and apparently they make a dent. I keep telling him to check his porch light too since that one is on every night.

Eighteen bucks is something but people act like it's life changing money. You'd save more by turning your thermostat up two degrees in the summer.
