I was reading an old magazine from 2005 about climate stuff

It said back then, a big climate goal was just to keep warming under 2 degrees. Found it in a box at my mom's house. Does anyone know when that target first got talked about?

Just to keep warming under 2 degrees" feels so naive now, doesn't it?

Actually I saw a report last week that said we're still on track to hit 1.9 degrees if current policies hold. The goal was always about avoiding the worst case, not fixing everything.
