I finally killed my compost bin by feeding it 4 bags of wilted spinach

Last Saturday I grabbed those clearance spinach bags from Aldi, figured my worms would love them. Dumped all 4 in at once and sealed the bin tight. Two days later I opened it and the smell literally knocked me backward, like rotting gym socks mixed with ammonia. Had to dig out all the slimy green mess with a trowel and start fresh. Has anyone else learned the hard way about overloading greens in a worm bin?

and thats exactly why i warn people about the "spinach massacre" lol. once you hit that ammonia smell you know youve made a serious mistake, it takes forever to get the bin back to normal after that. learned my lesson the same way with a whole bag of kale that went slimy overnight.
