Rant: my aunt told me to keep my cracked mug for good luck, and now I have two sides arguing in my kitchen
My aunt in Tampa told me 8 years ago to never toss a cracked mug because the crack "lets the luck out slow" instead of all at once, so my blue diner mug with the hairline crack down the side has stayed on my shelf this whole time. Half of me figures that's total nonsense and the crack just holds old coffee stains no dishwasher can reach, but the other half noticed every time I drink from it I somehow slow down and actually finish my coffee instead of chugging it at the sink. Did your cracked mug turn out to be a good luck charm or just a cup you're too sentimental to toss?

Had a buddy who kept a chipped coffee cup from his grandma for years and swore it made his mornings better. Eventually he dropped it in the sink and admitted the luck was just him slowing down to drink from something he cared about.
