My dad told me my chipped mug was 'unprofessional' for morning coffee... now I bring it to every meeting
He said people would judge me for drinking from a mug with a crack running down the side. But honestly, it's the one my daughter made in pottery class 5 years ago and it holds heat better than any new one I own. Do you side with function and memories or do you think a cracked mug sends the wrong message at work?

Actually, I gotta push back a little on the "holds heat better" part. Ceramic with a crack actually lets heat escape faster since there's a weak spot in the material. I learned that the hard way when my favorite camping mug got a chip and my coffee went lukewarm in half the time. But that doesn't change the main point at all! Your daughter made that mug for you and that means way more than what some corporate dress code says about coffee cups. If anything, the crack shows you're a real person with a life outside work, not just another guy with a plain white mug from Amazon. Keep bringing it, honestly the people who matter won't care and the ones who care don't matter.
