Found a tiny hairline crack on my favorite mug from college - turns out it's 14 years old

I was washing my mug last night and noticed this super fine crack running along the bottom rim that I'd somehow missed all these years. Did some digging and realized I bought it freshman year back in 2011 - has anyone else kept a mug way longer than they thought?

Tbh I might be off on this but 2011 wasn't 14 years ago, it's 13 unless it's late in the year and you're counting partial years. I had my favorite coffee mug from 2018 and it got a crack like that after I dropped it in the sink once. Hairline cracks can be sneaky though, mine was invisible for months until hot water made it show up. Probably worth retiring that mug before it gives out completely and you end up with coffee all over your floor.

I still have a mug from 2011 that's basically held together by coffee stains and spite at this point. Maybe it's time we both accept our mugs are living on borrowed time.
