Vent: dropped $140 on a rotary chimney brush setup that my old flat wire brush outcleans every time
Bought the fancy rotary kit last spring after a guy at the supply house in Dayton talked it up, and on a standard 8x8 flue it leaves more soot behind than the $22 flat wire brush I've used for 11 years. The flexible rods whip around on anything but dead straight runs too, so I'm out the money and still hauling the old brush up the ladder. Anyone actually getting good results with rotary on masonry flues, or did I just buy a $140 lesson?
