Vent: brush head snapped inside a flue on a zero clearance unit, who's at fault?
I was up on a roof in Portland last Tuesday doing a routine sweep on a zero clearance prefab, and my poly brush head sheared right off the cable about 8 feet down the flue liner. I spent the next 2 hours fishing out bristle chunks with a magnet and a shop vac setup, but the homeowner was watching me the whole time and started asking if my equipment was too cheap for the job. Is that on me for not inspecting the brush before I sent it down, or is this just the kind of risk every sweep takes when you're dealing with tight turns and older liners?
