Unpopular opinion: My kid told me our job is basically a home doctor
He said we 'diagnose the chimney's breathing' and now I can't stop thinking about how we sell a health check, not just a cleaning. Anyone else have a line that reframed the work for them?

That's a clever way for a kid to see it, but I'd push back on the doctor part a bit. A doctor treats the patient, but our main job is to stop the chimney from getting sick in the first place. It's more like a fitness coach for your fireplace, making sure it can do its job without having a heart attack. The health check idea is solid, though. My old boss used to say we were selling peace of mind, and a clean chimney is just the proof you bought it.
