That ultrasonic cleaner I bought for my brushes last month was a game changer

I was dead set against spending $60 on one, thinking a bucket of hot water and elbow grease did the same job. But after running my soot-caked brush heads through it, the crud that came off was unreal. Has anyone else tried one for their smaller tools?

My garage smelled like burnt dust for two days after I cleaned my paintbrush collection, and honestly I kind of loved it. I dropped my favorite 1 inch chip brush in there and the water turned dark brown within minutes. It felt like I was watching a horror movie but for tool grime. The ultrasonic cleaner is basically magic, I just wish it would work on my self respect after I admitted spending $60 on a glorified vibrating cup of water. My wife still laughs at me every time she sees it sitting next to the weed whacker.

Glorified vibrating cup of water" is exactly right. It's the same pattern as people who buy a $200 chef's knife and suddenly think they can cook, or a $500 socket set and still can't change their own oil. We all just want a shortcut to feeling like we know what we're doing.
