Stop overbrushing liners, you are making them worse
I keep seeing new sweeps posting videos where they run a metal brush over the liner like they are scrubbing a grill. After 12 years on trucks in Columbus I can tell you that aggressive brushing wears down the stainless and leaves gouges that catch creosote faster. Last month I did a cleanout where the liner was only 4 years old but looked like it had been through a rock tumbler because of this habit. A soft nylon brush and a steady hand clears the buildup just fine. Has anyone else noticed premature liner wear from this, or am I the only one seeing the pattern?
