Spent an hour brushing a flue that looked clean from the bottom

Pulled a raccoon nest out of a customer's chimney in Portland last Tuesday after the inspection camera showed zero obstruction from below, so now I always run the camera first before assuming anything.

Reading about your Portland raccoon nest really hit home. I had a similar thing happen with a bird nest in a flue last month - from the ground it looked totally clear, but once I got the camera up there, there was this big tangled mess blocking everything. That moment when the camera shows something you didn't expect is just the worst feeling. It makes you realize you can't trust what your eyes tell you from the bottom. Have you ever had a situation where you almost missed something like that?

Honestly @elizabeththomas that "you can't trust your eyes" line is so true, I found a hornet nest in my gutter that way last spring.
