So I looked up old chimney fire stats and it scared me straight

Was reading through some NFPA data last week after a cleanup job, and it said something like 25,000 chimney fires a year in the US. I always figured it was less, maybe a few thousand, because we only see the bad ones. Turns out most of them are preventable with a simple sweep, but people just don't book it. Has anyone else looked at these numbers and started quoting them to customers to push regular cleanings?
