Remember when we used to hand sweep everything with those old wire brushes?

I started out 12 years ago using those big round wire brushes on a rod, took forever and my arms felt like spaghetti at the end of the day. Now I use a rotary drill attachment with flexible rods and I can finish a standard residential flue in under 20 minutes. Has anyone else noticed newer liners being way smoother and easier to clean compared to the old clay tile setups?

Yeah those clay tiles always had rough joints and buildup spots that wire brushes just couldn't dig into.

My first job in 2012 with a buddy's older brother, we used those round brushes on a 30-foot clay liner and it took us almost an hour just for one flue. @coleman.henry those rough joints were the worst, I remember finding chunks of creosote stuck in them no matter how many passes I made. It makes me wish I had known about the flexible rod setups back then.
