I got told my brush technique was too rough by a client in Asheville, and they were right.
This was about two months ago. The homeowner was watching me work and said, 'You're really going at it. My last sweep was much more gentle.' I was using a lot of force, thinking it got the job done faster. I tried their way on the next flue, slower and more methodical, and you know what? Less dust in the room, and I could actually feel the difference in the brick. Now I take my time. Anyone else have a client point out something simple you were missing?

Ever have a moment like that where a client's simple comment just clicks?

Used to believe the big picture was all that mattered. A client pointed out one tiny detail that made the whole thing better. Totally changed how I see my work now.
