Had an old timer in St. Louis show me his brush setup last week
He was using a poly head on a fiberglass rod with this weird zigzag pattern. Said he hasn't bought a new brush in 8 years because he just replaces the poly strips when they wear down. Made me wonder if I'm overcomplicating my gear for residential work. Anybody else running a similar rig for standard 6 to 8 inch flues?

Wait, are you telling me that guy figured out a way to not drop $40 on a new brush head every season? Cause that sounds like a dream come true. I get so sick of buying new brushes, especially when the poly bristles start falling out after a few good uses. I just use a standard round wire brush for most jobs, but I'm honestly thinking about switching to this setup now. If it saves money and still scrubs down a 6 inch flue, it's worth a shot. I bet the zigzag pattern helps it flex around corners without getting stuck too.
