First job with the new carbon fiber rod... snapped clean in half

Was up on a roof in Eugene last Tuesday. Had this nice new rod I saved up for. Got through the first two flues fine. Third one the cable got hung up on something inside. Gave it a little tug and snap. There went $150. Had to drive back to the shop and grab my old steel rod. Customer watched the whole thing from their window. Anyone else had a new tool fail on them like that? What did you do?

gave it a little tug and snap" - man that hurts just reading it. Its like the universe has this rule where the more you spend on something the faster it breaks. My wife bought a $80 vacuum once and it died in three months. Then I grabbed a beat up $20 one from a garage sale and it's been running for years. I swear expensive stuff knows and just quits out of spite. Dont beat yourself up too hard, at least you had the old steel rod as backup.
