Finally caved and tried one of those drill-mounted brush kits for heavy creosote buildup

I figured it would just fling soot everywhere and make a mess, but after fighting a stubborn glaze on a third-floor flue last Wednesday I gave it a shot. It actually saved me about 45 minutes of hand scraping - has anyone else been surprised by a tool they swore they'd never use?

Yeah I saw a study once that said most people overestimate time saved by like double.
