Client tried to shake my sooty hand before I could clean up
I now wear gloves until fully packed to avoid messy greetings.

Oh man, I gotta disagree with you there. I take them off as soon as I see the first sign of bleeding because I want to see what's actually happening. If you keep them on the whole time you're just guessing at how bad it is underneath. The last thing you want is to pull them off at the end and realize it's way worse than you thought. Plus half the fun of woodworking is watching things go wrong in real time.
