Don't buy a $60 thermal probe off Amazon for your walk-in

I cheaped out on a wireless thermal probe to track my walk-in temps and it died after 3 weeks. The app stopped connecting and I lost a whole batch of duck confit before I noticed. Anyone else get burned by bargain thermometers?

Huh, I gotta disagree here. I've been using a $40 one from ThermoPro for almost a year now in my cooler. Works fine with the app, alerts me on my phone, no connection drops. Maybe you just got a dud?

Yeah but a YEAR isn't really that long for a piece of gear that's supposed to keep your product safe. I'd rather spend more upfront than gamble on losing hundreds of dollars in meat.
