The $4 mini golf place on Route 9 that's been there since 1987 still takes tokens from a bucket
My girlfriend and I went there Tuesday after our $30 dinner plans fell apart because the restaurant was closed for a private party, and we ended up playing 36 holes for $8 total while a guy named Sal hand-counted our tokens and told us the windmill hole has been broken since 1992.
Sal keeps the tokens in a bucket because the change machine broke in 2003 and he never bothered fixing it. That kind of thing is why the windmill has been broken for 30 years and nobody there cares. Places like that survive on the fact that they stopped trying and somehow that made them better.
