PSA: skip the $40 dinner theater and go to the $6 community college play instead
Me and my girlfriend were trying to plan a date night last month and we had two choices in front of us. The fancy dinner theater downtown wanted $40 a head for a murder mystery show, and the local community college was doing a Shakespeare play for $6 each. I pushed hard for the dinner theater because I figured you get what you pay for. We went with the college show since money was tight that week. And honestly it was one of the better nights we've had in a while. The actors were mostly students and one guy forgot his lines twice, but the whole crowd just laughed with him and it felt way more fun than some stiff production. We grabbed tacos after for $14 total and walked around the campus. Now I'm wondering what other cheap local stuff I've been sleeping on. Anyone else got a hidden gem like this in their town?
