My coworker in Denver swore a $0 first date at the botanic gardens would flop, she was wrong
Last spring my coworker Dana kept telling me that free dates come off cheap and I should just drop $60 on dinner if I wanted a second date. I ignored her and took a girl to the Denver Botanic Gardens on a free admission day because I was broke that week after rent went up $150. We walked around for 3 hours, packed a $7 picnic from Trader Joe's, and ended up dating for 8 months. The kicker is Dana spent $95 on a steakhouse first date that same weekend and the guy never texted her back. So now I want to know, is this a fluke or does anyone else have cheap dates that beat the expensive ones? What free spot near you actually worked?
