Wanted a nonstick pan for eggs, but my $8 garage sale skillet changed my mind
Last month I almost bought a 12 inch nonstick for 30 bucks at Target because my scrambled eggs kept sticking to my old Lodge. Instead I scrubbed the cast iron with steel wool, re-seasoned it with Crisco at 450 for an hour, and tried a lower flame with a pat of butter. Eggs slid right out and now the pan lives on my stove full time. Has anyone else almost given up on cast iron for eggs, and what heat level do you use?
