Used to scrub my skillet with soap after every fry, now I just wipe it with a rag and it's night and day
For about 4 years I washed my Lodge with Dawn and a sponge because I thought clean meant squeaky. Then a guy at the hardware store in Boise showed me his grandmother's pan from 1962, slick as glass, and said she never let soap touch it, just hot water and a scrape. Now I pour off the grease, wipe it warm with a paper towel, and give it a thin coat of Crisco maybe once a month. My eggs slide around like a hockey puck on ice. Anyone else make this switch, or do some of you still use soap and swear by it?
