My 20 year old skillet cracked in the oven and I just stood there staring at it
I was making cornbread in my grandmother's old skillet, the one she gave me when I moved into my first apartment back in 2004. Right as I pulled it out of the oven, I heard this dull pop and there was a crack running from the edge almost to the middle. I checked and it turns out the oven was running about 75 degrees hotter than the dial said, which is what probably did it after all these years of use. I seasoned that pan maybe 30 times over the years and it was smoother than anything I've ever bought new. Now I am wondering if I should try to find another old one at a flea market or just save up for something new, so what would you all do?
