Burned $60 on a 'pre-seasoned' pan that flaked on my first steak
I grabbed a cheap 12 inch skillet at a big box store in Fresno because the label promised it was ready to cook, and the black coating came off in my eggs on day one. Took it back to the shop and the guy shrugged and said that cloudy finish is just soybean oil, so now I only buy bare iron and season it myself with Crisco. How do you all spot a fake factory seasoning before you pay for it?
