Vent: A hotel job in Nashville made me rethink my seam roller choice

I was installing a tight patterned berber in a humid hallway, and my usual plastic roller kept leaving faint marks. The foreman handed me his brass one, and the seam just melted together. Now I'm debating if the extra cost is worth it for every job, or just specific ones. What do you guys use on tricky seams?

My old plastic roller left more marks than my first girlfriend's breakup letter.

That plastic roller comparison is too real... I had a cheap one from a starter kit that left shiny streaks on every single seam. Switched to a mid-weight steel roller for most jobs now, it's a good middle ground without the brass price tag.
