The room size calculator on my tape measure is off by 6 inches on every wall
Was laying out a bedroom yesterday and used the little chart printed on the side of my 25-foot tape measure to double-check square footage. Turns out it's using some weird rounding rule that adds half a foot to each dimension. Has anyone else noticed this with their tools or am I just dealing with a bad batch?

Found my old Stanley has same glitch, switched to a laser measure instead.

Why switch from something that works? Lasers can be finicky in sunlight and batteries always die at the worst time. @harperb46 I'd keep the old Stanley as a backup.
