That time I had to fix a seam in a finished basement with zero room to work
I was in a split-level house in Springfield, the kind where the basement stairs are tucked behind a wall. The homeowner wanted a single piece of carpet, but the doorway was only 26 inches wide. We got the roll down, but the seam in the main room was a full inch off. I had to pull the entire piece back up the stairs by myself, re-cut it on the driveway in the rain, and wrestle it back down. Anyone ever had to deal with a space that tight?
