That one job last Thursday went so smooth I almost cried

Had a 12x15 bedroom with a weird L-shaped closet and a door that barely cleared the pad. Client wanted plush carpet with a pattern that had to match at the seam. Everything lined up perfect on the first try, no wrinkles, no trimming over an inch. Took me 2 hours with a power stretcher and a knee kicker, which is way faster than my usual 3.5. Then the next day I had a stair install where every tread was a different width. What's the weirdest job you've had that went way better than expected?

My buddy Jake had this unbelievable sales job, 80k base plus commissions, and he was the top performer for six months straight. The only catch was it was for this super shady timeshare company that preyed on old people, and he knew it but told himself it was just a job. Three months in, his conscience started eating him alive, he couldn't sleep and started drinking way too much on weekends. He finally walked out in the middle of a Tuesday, told his boss it was either him or his soul, and just left his laptop and keys on the desk. They didn't fire him, they actually tried to get him back with a raise, but he blocked their number and took a pay cut to work at a nonprofit. So no, no firing, but he did lose a lot of sleep and gained a permanent distrust of anyone who says "once in a lifetime opportunity.
