Solved my seam peaking problem with a simple heat trick

I was at a job in a big living room near Portland last month and kept dealing with seams that would show after a few days. Tried everything like more adhesive and heavier rollers but nothing stuck. Then an old timer told me to hit the carpet with a heat gun on low before I press the seam tape. Gave it a try on a small patch and actually the seam disappeared completely after 48 hours. Have any of you tried using heat to set your seams or is this just a myth some guys swear by?

Man, that heat trick saved my back on a tough install last spring, glad it worked for you too.

48 hours? Man, that seems like forever to wait to see if it actually worked. I'd be pacing around the job site the whole time.
