I found out carpet used to be a status symbol in medieval Europe
I was watching a history show last night and they said back in the 1400s, only really rich people had carpets, and they'd hang them on walls instead of putting them on the floor. I mean, I knew old rugs were valuable, but idk, I never pictured a castle wall covered in carpet. Makes you think about how the trade has changed. Has anyone else come across weird historical facts about flooring?

Seems like a weird thing to get hung up on.
