I finally caved and used a power stretcher after years of knee kicker stubbornness

I always thought power stretchers were overkill for residential jobs, but last month I did a 12x15 living room in Albany with some heavy Berber carpet. After fighting the knee kicker for two hours and getting zero results, I borrowed a buddy's Roberts 10-85 power stretcher and finished the whole room in 45 minutes with perfect seams. Anyone else resist switching tools for years and then regret not doing it sooner?

Bought a used power stretcher off Craigslist after my third knee job went wrong. Best hundred bucks I ever spent. Now I don't even bother with a knee kicker unless it's a tiny closet or a staircase. The stretching is way more consistent too, less callbacks for ripples. Honestly, the time savings alone pays for itself after a couple jobs.

Three hundred bucks at the supply house for a decent one and I still grab my knee kicker nine times out of ten. I just never got along with those power stretchers, they feel too clunky for me to trust on a straight stretch.
