Hit 500 yards of carpet last month and burned out my knee. Here's what happened.

I installed 500 yards last month trying to get ahead before the slow season. My knee started popping on Tuesday and by Friday I could barely kneel to stretch. Took three days off and went to a doc who said I got bursitis from overuse. I was trying to hit a personal record but it wasn't worth the recovery time. Anyone else push too hard and mess up their joints?

Switched to knee pads with gel inserts and slowed my pace way down.

Gel inserts and slowing down" - sounds like you're prepping for surgery, not skating.
