Found a trick to stop carpet seams from unraveling on stairs
Had a job last month where the seam on a stair riser kept pulling apart after two visits. I tried hot glue along the edge before folding and it held solid for the final walkthrough. Anyone else use glue for tough seams like this?

Wait, hot glue on carpet seams? That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Hot glue dries hard and brittle, it's not made for flexible carpet fibers. When someone walks on those stairs, the glue cracks and the seam pops right back apart. Carpet needs to stretch and move a little, hot glue stops that completely. It also leaves a nasty residue if you ever have to pull the carpet up again. I'd stick with seam tape and a proper iron, that's what actually bonds the backing together without ruining the carpet.

Tried hot glue once, friend's seam popped in a week flat.
