Finally bought a power stretcher after years of knee kickers
I dropped $400 on a Roberts 20 inch power stretcher last week and I wish I did it years ago. First job with it took half the time and my knees aren't screaming at me today. How do you guys decide when to upgrade a tool vs just making do?

$400 could've bought a lot of knee pads and ibuprofen though.

You mention "a lot of knee pads and ibuprofen" like that's a fair trade-off, but I gotta disagree. My knees are the kind that hurt just from standing too long, so loading them up with more abuse and masking it with painkillers is a losing game. That $400 stretcher paid for itself on the first big carpet job - I did a whole basement in 3 hours versus my usual 6 with the knee kicker. Plus, the ibuprofen route just means I'm wrecking my stomach lining on top of my joints. Sometimes spending up front is the real savings, you know what I mean?
