A homeowner questioned my seaming method and now I'm second guessing myself
Guy in Springfield had me redo a bedroom seam because he watched a YouTube video showing a different overlap cut. I've been doing the straight cut with a hot seam iron for 8 years, never had a callback. But his carpet was a patterned loop pile and my seam showed a slight shadow. He showed me the angle cut method from the video and honestly it laid flatter. Now I'm wondering if I should switch for patterned carpets or if this guy just got lucky. Anyone else run into a customer who watched too many videos and turned out to be right?
