TIL a 1/16 inch shim on my table saw sled fixed a year of bad crosscuts
I was building a set of oak cabinet doors for a client in Reno last Tuesday and every one came out about 1/32 inch out of square at the corners. I checked my blade, my fence, my square, everything, and it all looked dead on. Turned out my crosscut sled had a tiny bit of slop in the right miter slot and a thin strip of UHMW tape I had in my junk drawer took it right out. Four doors cut perfect after that, and I'm honestly kind of mad I didn't catch it sooner. Has anyone else run into slop in their sled runners like that?
